Danzo is not afraid of death, he is afraid of being stepped on by Hiruzen. I personally think that he will not do anything that is obviously detrimental to Konoha. Kishimoto also said that Danzo is also doing it for Konoha. I feel that it would be just right if Danzo and Black Zetsu die together 😄
