Spring Snow Melts Beneath the Hibiscus Canopy

Luo Fu only discovers she's been forced into a bridal sedan to marry Zhou Changchuan, the Left Chancellor who wields power over the court but is as cold as ice, in place of her cousin. Rumor has it that his birth mother was ruined by a beautiful woman, leaving him with a deep loathing for women who dress too provocatively. And Luo Fu, a country girl mocked by the capital's noblewomen as a “femme fatale” for her voluptuous, enchanting beauty, is exactly that sort of woman. On their wedding night, he lifts her veil, his pupils contracting in shock, then turns and leaves with a single icy warning: “Know your place.”

Everyone expects Luo Fu to cry and cling to him, but she takes it all in stride. He ignores her? Perfect, she'll focus on her career, open an embroidery shop and start a school, and make a name for herself in the capital. He despises her? Then she'll live life in the boldest colors, making “seductiveness” her one-of-a-kind badge of honor.

Only when Zhou Changchuan defies the entire court for her, and awkwardly lowers himself to make peace, does Luo Fu realize that this marriage, which began as a scheme to use her to avert a calamity, has long since become something else. But just as she gives him her heart, she accidentally overhears him coolly plotting: “Once she bears an heir, the calamity will have passed...”

Luo Fu's heart dies. She leaves behind divorce papers and walks away with her head held high. Only then does Zhou Changchuan, the man who holds the court in his power, realize that the so-called “calamity” was never her. It was losing her. Thus begins the aloof Left Chancellor's long road to winning his wife back: begging in the rain, resigning from office to follow her... All he can hope is to melt the heart he froze with his own hands.
