The First City

The Tianlan Empire is a fictional dynasty modeled on China during the Song and Ming periods. It appears prosperous on the surface, but corruption festers within. Political factions clash fiercely at court, while powerful enemies gather beyond the borders. In the north are the fierce Beidi tribes, in the west the wealthy kingdoms of the Western Regions, and in the southern frontier the mysterious tribes of sorcerers. The entire empire is like a building on the verge of collapse, battered by wind and rain.
