The Eternal Granary

In 2045, abnormal solar activity sends global temperatures plummeting, and human civilization plunges into an ice age overnight. Order collapses, civilization fractures, and a moldy loaf of bread is enough to make someone sell their soul.

In this desperate wasteland, Lin Shouzhuo guards an unassuming basement. Only he knows that the rusty iron door leads not to a sewer, but to the Ming Dynasty in 1402, a turbulent age just after the Jingnan Campaign, with Zhu Di on the verge of ascending the throne.

Gold and diamonds from the apocalypse are worthless to Lin Shouzhuo. All he wants from the Ming Dynasty is food, cotton, and live pigs.

And what does the Ming Dynasty lack? Antibiotics, high-yield potato seeds, fine-steel Tang swords, and “heavenly secrets” from five hundred years in the future.

While survivors beat one another bloody over a dead rat, Lin Shouzhuo sits before a warm fireplace, eating imperial roast duck specially supplied by the Ming court and sipping aged huadiao wine.

“Your Majesty, a year's silk output from your three Jiangnan provinces for this batch of penicillin. That's a fair deal, right?”

This is the story of a middleman traveling between an icebound apocalypse and a flourishing Ming Dynasty, and a legend about building supreme order in both worlds.
