A Divination Fee of 100 Million? Too Expensive? That's What Your Life Is Worth

"The fee for a reading is one hundred million."

I slid my rate card across the table to the billionaire sitting opposite me.

He shot to his feet and slammed the table. "Are you crazy?!"

"Too expensive?" I lifted my teacup. "Then you're free to leave."

Three days later, his company's stock hit its daily limit down, and he knelt outside my door, begging me for a reading.

"It's two hundred million now."

My name is Lin Yuan. I'm a fortune teller.

My rules are simple: prices are clearly posted, and payment comes before the reading.

But there are three kinds of clients I won't take: those who are about to die, those in a situation they can't win,

and...

those who can't afford the price.

Until one day, someone handed me a bloodstained photograph.

"Master Lin, tell me the fortune of the character 'ill-omened.'"

"How much is the fee?"

I looked at my own face in the photo and smiled.

"This time, I want your life."
