The Medical History of Journey to the West

#Psychiatric Treatment #Eldritch Immortals and Buddhas #Dark Journey to the West

My medical record says: paranoid schizophrenia, accompanied by multiple personality disorder.

But I know that’s not true.

I am Tang Sanzang, on my way to the West to obtain the scriptures.

My first disciple is the “manic disorder” on the first page of my record. He’s always trying to kill me and take over this body.

My second disciple is the “addiction disorder” on the second page. All he cares about is devouring and reproducing.

My third disciple is “compulsive mutism.” The river sand he dredges is full of fragments of my memories.

The White Dragon Horse is “distorted rationality.” It knows the way, but the road itself refuses to be traveled.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is my attending physician. The medicine she prescribes is called the “Golden Headband Mantra.”

And Mount Lingshan is the final page of my medical record.

Written there are the final diagnosis and the only treatment plan.
