I Turned the Cold Palace Into a Viral Shopping Street, and the Emperor Came to Recruit Businesses

Overworked office drone Shen Juanjuan dies suddenly after another all-nighter and wakes up as an abandoned consort in the Cold Palace.

All she has is three ramshackle rooms, a basket of rotten potatoes, and a crowd of enemies waiting to laugh at her.

After binding to the “Cold Palace Sign-In System,” she goes completely wild. While everyone else schemes for power, she’s busy building up the Cold Palace:

Today she makes cement and paves roads, tomorrow she builds shops and recruits tenants, and the day after that she sets up a palace-wide delivery network...

She turns the Cold Palace, once avoided by everyone, into the capital’s most bustling commercial district.

Then envoys from the northern tribes arrive, demanding a tour of Great Qi’s “most mysterious prosperous place.”

Emperor Xiao Zhi is forced to step into the Cold Palace. Seeing the brightly lit shopping street, the consorts and palace servants queuing to shop, and a smiling woman handing him a copy of The Cold Palace’s Five-Year Development Plan, he falls into deep thought.

Later, as he looks at the imperial seal and her account books laid side by side on his desk, he grits his teeth and asks, “Empress, when will this year’s state revenue finally surpass your private coffers?”

Shen Juanjuan works her abacus without looking up. “Your Majesty, want to invest? Take a number and get in line.”

This is a redevelopment project that begins in the Cold Palace. She tears down the old palace walls, and wins the emperor’s heart.
