108 Days After My Best Friend Sold Me to Cambodia

On the night of my 24th birthday, my best friend An Ning gave me a Tiffany bracelet and a luxury trip to Cambodia. I thought it was a sweet gift, never knowing I had already become “cargo.” Only when the illusion of a villa became barbed wire, and birthday candles became sparks from a stun baton, did I see the venom behind An Ning’s smile. In a purgatory called “Mercy,” I was forced to learn how to scam people, witness death, and take a bloodstained knife before a hypocritical Buddhist shrine. For 108 days, every second crushed my innocence, but none could crush my instinct to survive. From obedience to putting on an act, from isolation to forging alliances, I used my memories as a blade and data as a shield, moving carefully through surveillance, betrayal, and trials of human nature as I planned a desperate counterattack with my life on the line. Escaping the compound was not the end, but the beginning of a battle against a vast network of darkness. My soul was stained with blood, but I would never surrender.
