I’m a Spirit Guide, and Hu Tao Picked Me Up for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor

My name is Duyun, and I’ve worked as a spirit guide in Teyvat for over a thousand years.

My daily work: guiding departed souls, cleansing lingering obsessions, and maintaining the boundary between life and death.

Then one day, Hu Tao, the eccentric and unpredictable director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, “picked me up.”

From then on, my life took a completely different turn.

The Geo Archon kept inviting me to drink tea and listen to stories. Xiangling was always using me to test her “soul-soothing snacks.” Xingqiu chased after me to hear strange tales, while Chongyun earnestly researched whether my spirit-guiding lantern could ward off evil...

And Hu Tao was always trying to get me to explore “innovative ways to integrate the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor’s business with spirit guiding.”

I thought I’d just have a cushy sinecure and spend my days slacking off.

Then one day, the ancient lamp at my waist reflected a thousand-year-old echo in the winds of Mondstadt, and the scent of wine that had never faded drifted from the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor’s old pavilion...

That was when I realized the stories and regrets buried in the passage of time were waiting for a gentle ending.
