Dream of the Red Chamber: Daiyu Is Arrogant and Overbearing

[A Dream of Red Mansions fan fiction + interplanar trading space + light mythological elements from A Dream of Red Mansions + heroine returns] Daiyu is reborn, carrying the memories of dying after weeping herself dry in her previous life. This time, to hell with “wind like knives and frost like swords pressing in,” and to hell with “pure in nature, pure in return.” She wants to be arrogant. She wants to live life on her own terms. Jia Baoyu wants to smash his jade and throw a fit? She tells him to pawn it for cash! Lady Wang wants to put her in her place? Daiyu fires right back! Xue Baochai wants to stage a sisterly oath? Daiyu tears off the mask on the spot! This time, Daiyu won’t shed another tear. She’ll live boldly and defiantly, making a splendid life for herself. As the Jia family’s grand mansion begins to crumble and everyone else is drunk on delusion, she alone has already secured a way out and watches the storm unfold with a smile. Reborn with integrity, Xie Linyuan is naturally upright and devoted to helping Daiyu change her fate. Since meeting her, he has yielded ground on his rules and principles time and again. When others urge him, as her tutor, to keep her in line, he simply says: “As long as she’s safe, she can be as unruly as she likes.” Daiyu once said she would treat him with the respect due a tutor, but his gaze only grew more ardent. Once stern and rigid, he now indulges her in every way: “Whatever you want, I’ll grant it. Whatever you do, I’ll cover for you.”
