Live Antique Appraisal: Are You Saying Every Museum Exhibit Is Fake?

The day Chen Wensheng awakened his Appraisal System, he was livestreaming from the antique market.

A fan commented, “Streamer, that painting, Eight Views of Autumn, is hanging in a museum. Yours has to be a fake, right?”

He took a look. “No, mine is real. The one in the museum is fake.”

The livestream chat: ???

The police showed up. Then the experts. Even the shop manager came.

In the end, the museum director was taken away.

From then on, his livestreams went completely off the rails:

At the Palace Museum, he pointed at its prized treasure. “This jade seal of Emperor Qianlong’s… it was made last week.”

At the Louvre, he glanced at the Mona Lisa. “The smile is pretty mysterious, but the painting is fake.”

At the British Museum, he went straight on the mic. “Eight out of every ten artifacts here are replicas. The real ones were switched out a long time ago.”

Museum directors around the world lost sleep, sending him private messages late into the night:

“Mr. Chen, please stop talking! We’ll change the labels right away!”

“Consultant Chen, name your salary and your terms. Just please don’t livestream!”

“Dad! You’re my real dad! I’ll donate that painting back to China right away. Please, don’t say another word!”

Looking at the rewards piling up, Chen Wensheng scratched his head.

“I’m really just a small-time streamer…”
