Poor Ya

It is a realistic novel. It is well written. I am currently reading it. It describes the feudal thoughts of the past. The characters have distinct personalities and the preference for sons over daughters is particularly obvious. From the beginning, Kuya's biological mother, the mother-in-law and her husband lied about sending their newborn daughter away but actually discarded it. I just knew it at the beginning. At that time, he just wanted to get his daughter back, but later he gradually accepted this fact, and his emotional changes towards this abandoned daughter. From the initial unbearability to the later disgust, the writing was particularly good. He was not a poor woman bound by feudal ideas in the context of that time. What I know is that my parents' generation has this idea, including my best friend who is the same age as me. She also gave birth to three daughters and insisted on having four children in order to have a son. Even though she is highly educated, she cannot escape this idea. Ideas such as "sons carry on the family line and raise children to provide for old age" are actually common in today's era.

This book writes about childhood memories in the 1970s and 1980s, real life!
