Live-Streaming the Long March Across Time: Millions of Viewers Moved to Tears

[The Long March + adorable child + livestream + love of country + mutual salvation + no romance + everyday history] A “Cloud Supervisor” System from the twenty-first century unexpectedly comes online, connecting to the grueling 25,000-li Long March. A three-year-old cutie nicknamed “Little Glutinous Rice,” found by a young Red Army soldier, becomes the only link between the two eras. From the start, they're crossing grasslands, cold and starving? Viewers across the internet are moved to tears: “If our forebears can eat their fill, I'm willing to live on coarse food too!” Millions of comments come together as “time-space points.” What they redeem isn't guns or cannons, but penicillin, heating pads, and compressed biscuits, the supplies most desperately needed in that era. This is a two-way journey across time and space: Through their screens, modern viewers report to their ragged forebears: “Grandpa, we have aircraft carriers now, and the roads are all built. We don't have to slog through the mud anymore.” And during breaks on the march, the forebears teach people of today the simplest of truths: “Don't be afraid when you face hardship. Climb over this mountain, and you'll find the plains ahead.” We'll accompany you along the Long March, gaze upon the moon over Yan'an, and wait for the clouds to part and the moon to shine again. The red flag billows in the western wind. Little Glutinous Rice grows up and boards the train bound for Beijing in 1970. Along the way, the land is at peace and all is well.
