The Movie Emperor’s Contract Sweetheart

Before retiring, stunt performer Su Xiaotang takes on an outrageous job: pretending to be the “contract wife” of top-tier star Lu Beichen for a year, in exchange for a million yuan. She thinks it will be an easy way to make money, but it turns out that while the Lu Movie Emperor is aloof and refined in public, in private he’s an overgrown child. He steals her snacks, hitches rides on her little electric scooter, and gets so nervous during her fight scenes that he acts like an overprotective mother. “Mr. Lu, we’re only pretending.” “Clause Three of the contract: We have to act close in public. Call me ‘honey.’” Then one day, a video of Su Xiaotang performing stunts unexpectedly goes viral. Haters dig up her “climbing the social ladder” through the movie star, and the whole internet calls her a scheming woman. At the awards ceremony, Lu Beichen drops to one knee in front of the livestream cameras: “A year ago, I forced her to sign that contract because it was the only stupid way I could think of to keep this woman, who only has eyes for doing backflips, by my side.” The whole internet erupts: Wasn’t this supposed to be a marriage of convenience? This sweetness is off the charts!
