In the Seventh Year, I Was Ordered to Kill Him

Amnesiac powerhouse + assassin heroine + runaway pregnant woman + secret identities + beautiful, strong, tragic heroine + twist after twist

I am the top assassin codenamed Rose. I spent three years undercover beside my sworn enemy, Lu Siyu.

I lost the final strike, and I lost completely. He personally locked me in a dungeon where no light could reach.

In the interrogation room, thick with dim light and the stench of blood, he pinned me against the cold wall by the throat. His voice was colder than the prison itself. “Tell me. Why did you try to kill me?”

As the air was squeezed from my lungs bit by bit, I looked at the face that had been pressed close to mine for three years, coughed up blood, and laughed hoarsely:

“Because… my son is yours, too.”

His fingers tightened abruptly. Disbelief and absurdity flashed deep in his eyes, then were swallowed by an even deeper chill. Each word dripped with venom:

“You’d tell a lie like that just to stay alive? Go on, keep making things up.”

He was convinced it was a pathetic attempt to save myself, until he led an assault on the enemy’s lair and carried a boy out of a living hell. The child looked exactly like him, yet the drugs had left him unnaturally silent.

Until a DNA report, like a blade of judgment, cut through every last veil before his eyes.

The man who controlled a dark empire and had never shown a flicker of emotion turned rigid as a statue at the sight of the report, then went mad overnight.

Every forgotten fragment came crashing back into his mind: the wind roaring behind us on a motorcycle, the warmth of our embrace on a snowy night, the burning kiss when we parted at the airport, and the scar beneath his ribs from taking a blow meant for me…
