I Bought the Rights to Interpret the Rules

The first instance in the Reincarnation Space is "Honest Supermarket." The rules: You must shop, you cannot lie, and the store closes at midnight. Clutching my only currency, a button, I tell the cashier, "I'll buy 'the third thing you just said.'" The supermarket falls silent. The cashier stiffly repeats what they said three seconds earlier: "...The final right of interpretation for this supermarket belongs to the manager." I smile. Now that right belongs to me.
