Changbai Mountain’s Hunting King

In the bitter winter of 1960, famine swept across China.

Lin Yuan, a modern special forces soldier, died on the battlefield. But in the midst of a blizzard, his soul transmigrated into the body of an 18-year-old boy on the brink of death at the foot of the Lesser Khingan Mountains in Northeast China. Faced with a broken leg and severe injuries, a sick father, a frail mother, two sisters near death, and three days without food, the iron will of the “Snow Leopard” from his previous life awoke with a vengeance.

Starting with dragging himself through the snow on a broken leg and using a stone as a blade to hunt for a chance to survive, Lin Yuan drew on survival skills far beyond his time to carve out a way forward for his whole family amid the forests and rivers of the Northeast. He tanned his first deerskin, built his first warm shelter, resisted militia harassment, and evaded spies. In turbulent times, he wielded a hunting bow as his pen and the forest as his paper, writing a legend of a common man’s rise.

But he was more than a hunter. He was a protector.
