Paying on Credit with a Military Tally? The Shopkeeper Calls the Authorities on the Spot

(Historical farming romance + lighthearted + cozy + faux business intrigue + building a fortune + happy ending) Shen Weiyi, proprietor of the most popular restaurant in town, the Pavilion of a Hundred Flavors, has one daily routine: make money! Make money! Make money! Years ago, out of kindness, she saved a 180-pound chubby boy with a bowl of noodles. Who knew that would become the most absurd twist in her otherwise peaceful life? Other people’s reunions involve gifts of gold and silver. Mine involved someone handing me a pitch-black military tally. Other people’s princes are imposing and dignified. Mine spends every day loitering in the kitchen, begging for food. Other shopkeepers go weak in the knees when they meet an official. Mine sees a military tally and immediately shouts, “Call the authorities!” The waiters quietly wipe down the tables, the accountant deftly works the abacus, and everyone has long since gotten used to the prince’s shameless antics. Rumors spread through the capital: “Have you heard? The Third Prince got kicked out by Shopkeeper Shen again!” “Shopkeeper, can’t you make an exception?” Zhao Huai pleaded. “No! I don’t accept iron that can’t be made into a cleaver!” Shen Weiyi replied, smiling brightly. May the days be peaceful and still. A bowl of Fortune Noodles is enough to soothe a weary soul. #TheProudShopkeeper’sDailyQuestForMoney #TheSchemingGeneral’sPursuitOfHisWife #PavilionOfAHundredFlavorsFoodGuide
