(Cultivation, cautious survival, ensemble cast, System, humor) Li Buyan is dead. At least, that’s what his entire sect believes.
After transmigrating to the cultivation world, the only truth he learns is this: live long enough, and you’ll have the last laugh. So he combines risk management, project management, and the essence of cautious survival to found the “Steady Sect.” While other sects’ prodigies battle it out in secret realms, his sect rules state: “If the risk exceeds 3%, the operation must be canceled.”
As a result, he raises a mountain full of eccentric oddballs:
His junior sister goes out for a stroll and always “happens upon” ancient treasures and life-threatening trouble.
His second junior brother practices how to take a Nascent Soul expert’s ultimate attack to the face and survive.
His third junior sister’s job is to leave the entire cultivation world wondering philosophically whether someone “seems to exist, yet also seems not to.”
Even the sect’s guardian beast is a lazy old tortoise that can’t be bothered to move and once endured an ancient calamity.
Then one day, the mighty cultivators of the world foresee an apocalyptic crisis. Terrified, they decide to visit the legendary “ancestor of cautious survival” for advice.
They nervously push open the wooden gate of a mountain village, only to find a bunch of oddballs gathered around a stone table, munching on sunflower seeds and tossing talisman cards. Without even looking up, they wave them away:
“Looking for our grandmaster? The grass on his grave is already three zhang tall.”
Meanwhile, in an absolutely secure shelter buried three hundred levels underground, Li Buyan watches the monitors and sips his tea. “Step ninety-nine of the karma-clearing plan, begin. This time, it’s time to patch the Heavenly Dao.”
We stay hidden not to hide away. We do it so that when the whole world is panicking, we can calmly pull out ten emergency plans and ask, “That’s it?”
