Amber-Hued Half-Sweet Moments

Four women, each trapped in her own transparent cage, meet because a yoga studio is about to go out of business. From an awkward attempt to share membership cards to a tearful breakdown with no concern for appearances, they see their own reflections in one another. And so, a secret pact called the “Half-Sugar Alliance” quietly comes into being: no perfect fantasies drowning in sugar, just the truth at half sweetness, and the strength they find in supporting one another.

Together, they will face the ambiguous hands reaching down from the glass ceiling at work, the growing coldness and distance inside the fortress of marriage, the deathly ticking of society’s clock, and the relentless demands of their families of origin... On countless nights when they teeter on the edge of breaking down, they become one another’s beacons.

This is an atypical “war” waged by contemporary women. There is no gunfire, yet they are covered in wounds; there are no villains, yet obstacles lie everywhere. How will they reclaim the power to define their own lives? Will they sink into the “sugar coating” of society’s expectations, or forge their own brilliant edge from the shattered “glass”?

Amber Half-Sweet Days is dedicated to every woman struggling between what she “should” do and what she “wants” to do. It is a story about falling down, breaking apart, and then putting yourself back together with your own hands. There are no perfect answers here, only honest searching and a connection stronger than loneliness.
