My Whole Sect Is Gorgeous, Weak, and Miserable: This Cultivation World Plays by Its Own Rules

[Leveling Up + Plot-Driven + No Romance + Light Ensemble Cast + Young Prodigies + Sect Building] Fantasy Cultivation is a wildly popular virtual cultivation game. The unlucky yet lucky Jiang Zhaozhao is one of its players. Full of beautiful fantasies about cultivation, Jiang Zhaozhao chooses the Eastern Region, planning to seek a master from one of the four great sects. Who could have guessed the System would screw her over? Out of nowhere, she gets a broken sword, then somehow becomes the head of a sect. Who does that? With no other choice, Jiang Zhaozhao accepts this sect, ranked dead last. Fine, dead last among three thousand sects it is! Let’s get to work. Full of determination, Jiang Zhaozhao recruits a bunch of weak, unlucky disciples for her sect. Disciple Number One is three years old and seems to be a walking good-luck charm. Disciple Number Two is a former eldest senior brother and top disciple of a major sect. His spiritual root is now ruined, and he seems beyond saving. Disciple Number Three has the classic five-element spiritual root. Maybe he can make a comeback and become some kind of chosen one? Disciple Number Four doesn’t seem human. Disciple Number Five is the second son of a formation-crafting family, and the family’s least favorite. Disciple Number Six is on the run from a prominent family in the Western Region. On top of that, the sect has an unreliable elder and a Sword Venerable with a shattered dantian. They’re all miserable, weak, and pitiful. Is this sect even salvageable?! Jiang Zhaozhao is at a loss. Then one day, she discovers that every one of them has been assigned a different cannon-fodder role. Ha ha. Cultivation is hard enough already, and this cultivation world never plays by the rules. A bunch of weirdos and a bunch of pitfalls! Even the System is a scheming bastard!! This cultivation world is doomed. [Note: Jiang Zhaozhao: Jiang as in river, Zhaozhao as in “bright and radiant,” from the phrase “may every year bring peace and every wish come true.”]
