I Won't Be a War God: An Ordinary Man in the Age of Cold Weapons and Firearms

After transmigrating to an era torn apart by war, Yun Fei has a simple goal: survive, and help the people around him survive too. He has no cheats, knows nothing about making gunpowder, and even has to learn hand-to-hand combat with cold weapons from scratch. He has only three things: a scout's instinct for the battlefield, a first-aid manual, and a heart that can't bear to watch his brothers die.

At the recruit camp, he uses strips of cloth and wooden sticks to make a splint, saving the first comrade to sprain an ankle. At Lone Wolf Post, he reinforces the walls and digs drainage ditches, cutting the winter death rate from fifty percent to twenty. Beneath Tienyuan City, he builds simple trenches, reducing casualties from shelling by a full fifteen percentage points. No matter how fierce the Black Crow Tribe's cavalry or how powerful the bronze cannons, he guards his own little patch of ground: one outpost, one squad, a band of brothers who share life and death.

Some call him a coward who dares not charge into battle. Others call him a genius whose makeshift methods save lives. Yun Fei just crouches in the trench, wiping down his ring-pommeled saber. "Change the world? I'm not capable of that."

"I just want tomorrow's sun to shine on more of my brothers' faces."

This is the story of an ordinary man holding his ground on the battlefield. There are no earth-shattering feats, only a fortress called "survival," built inch by inch.
