After three years hauling bricks, the richest man in the world kneels before my dad. I think it’s all an act, until I find out the dog’s bowl at home is a national treasure?

Lu Chen has always thought he was a poor second-generation kid.

His father is a scrap collector who’s not only stingy but loves to brag.

To scrape together tuition money, Lu Chen works hauling bricks at a construction site under the blazing sun.

Then one day, hundreds of Rolls-Royces surround the site. The richest man in the world drops to his knees before Lu Chen’s father, who is busy gnawing on a steamed bun, and cries out in a trembling voice, “Welcome back, Dragon Head!”

His father slaps him without a second thought. “Get lost! I collect scrap. You’ve got the wrong person!”

The richest man is overjoyed, tears in his eyes. “The Dragon Head hit me! He’s hinting that I should keep a low profile!”

Lu Chen believes his father’s nonsense and figures it’s just a scam in progress.

But then things start getting increasingly strange…

The “supermarket gift card” his father casually gives him crashes the banking system and buys up the entire Wall Street;

The scruffy, stub-tailed mutt guarding their home shatters an international assassin’s titanium alloy sword with one paw;

The aunt downstairs selling pancakes turns out to be making his breakfast with the legendary “Soul-Severing Spatula”;

Even the chipped, battered bowl his father uses to feed the dog makes an antiques expert drop to his knees in tears and declare it a “Divine Artifact That Protects the Nation”!

At last, when Lu Chen accidentally sticks the “iron rod” his father gave him into the moon, he breaks down.

“Dad, quit pretending! Did you build the United Nations too?”

His father blows out a ring of smoke and says mildly, “That was just an illegal temporary work shed. Our real business is at the center of the galaxy.”
