When Xie Qian woke up, she had become half human, half scorpion, and an edgy “Ruler of the Night.” With winter approaching, she sneaked into the wolf clan’s granary, only to be caught on the spot by a group of fluffy guards.
To make up for the “grain theft,” she stayed on as a mercenary. She had expected to scrape by, but then she met the tribe’s shaman: Isaac, a boy with snow-white wolf ears, blood-red eyes, and a head full of “divine laws and aether.”
He could sense the vibrations of all things, yet couldn’t understand the beat of his own heart. She carried fragments of knowledge from another civilization, but feared that telling him would make him break down.
From stargazing on winter nights to confessions in spring, two lonely souls awkwardly drew closer at the boundary between magic and science.
This is a Beast World story about survival and the pursuit of knowledge. Expect fluffy wolf ears and a deep-blue scorpion tail, a boy who doesn’t know how to pursue someone and a girl who seems not to be pursuing him even when she does.
