A Civil Engineer's Comeback: My Years as a Warlord in Africa

Chen Fan, a construction-engineering office drone, thought going to Africa meant building bridges and roads while earning foreign currency. Instead, the moment he arrived, a terrorist organization kidnapped him, turning him into a walking “$500,000 bounty.”

At the brink of life and death, the African Hegemon Infrastructure System awakens!

Build things, and you get cutting-edge technology. Grow crops, and you get heavy industry.

Facing bandits armed with AKs, Chen Fan calmly lights a cigarette. “Don’t get the wrong idea. My excavator just has a slightly bigger bucket, and I happened to install an anti-tank gun on it.”

From then on, Africa’s whole look changes. While other warlords are still fighting over flip-flops, Chen Fan’s tribe is already using drone swarms and electromagnetic defense towers.

Lin Wan, a cool and beautiful diplomat, watches mercenaries rolling on the ground and begging for mercy, her face flushed. “Chen Fan, I told you to evacuate the citizens, not wipe out the entire rebel army!”

Chen Fan pins her against the tank armor with a crooked smile. “Reporting to you, ma’am: this is called ‘clearing the construction site.’ How about inspecting the work at my tent tonight?”
