[In the late 1980s, a blood-red map leads the way as three veteran soldiers venture into a thousand-year-old tomb where life and death are inseparable!]
In 1988, the smoke of the Sino-Vietnamese War had only just cleared. Lin Zhan, a former scout, returned home after demobilization, bearing the courage and scars forged on the battlefield. All he wanted was a quiet life. His childhood friend Zhao Tiezhu, formerly a machine gunner, was as broad and solid as his name suggested. Big-mouthed and bold, he loved studying the cooks' craft and boasting about his battlefield heroics. In truth, he was meticulous, the team's most dependable support.
Their paths converged, and suspicions mounted. Lin Zhan sought the company commander's trail and the truth; Zhao Tiezhu would go through fire and water for his friend; and Su Jin was searching for a loved one. These three demobilized soldiers, all masters of their crafts and marksmen with deadly aim, were forced to join forces. Following the map, they ventured deep into the desolate, uncanny wastelands of the northern deserts.
What awaited them was no treasure, but the fearsome tomb of a Xiongnu king, buried deep underground and shrouded in bloody legend. An ancient bloodthirsty curse, mutated creatures in an underground maze, and foreign relic-smuggling gangs lurking in the shadows... Death awaited at every turn. More chilling still, the half of the blood map they possessed seemed to point to a vast conspiracy spanning thirty years, one mysteriously connected to a secret mission they had carried out on the battlefield.
Their fighting spirit had not faded, and their bonds forged in battle ran deep. As they entered the pitch-black tomb passage with Type 56 submachine guns in hand and their backs to one another, they would face not only millennia-old traps and bizarre creatures, but also the greed and betrayal buried in the darkest corners of the human heart.
