A Huang the Police Dog and His Hapless Partner

"What the heck?!" Li Yunfeng steadied himself, nearly tossing the mug out of his hand. He squinted and looked closer, only to find an unexpected visitor in the courtyard: a little dog with sandy-yellow fur, maybe two or three months old. Its fluffy head and round eyes bobbed as it stood by his feet, digging furiously at something in a crack between the bricks.

"Hey, where did you come from, little pup?" Li Yunfeng spat out the last of his mouthwash and crouched down, curious.

The yellow puppy looked up. Its black nose was damp, but it wasn't afraid of him. Instead, its tail wagged like a rattle, and it came over to rub its nose against his trouser leg.

"Well, aren't you friendly?" Li Yunfeng reached out and scratched under its chin. The little thing immediately narrowed its eyes in contentment, making a rumbling sound in its throat.
