War of Resistance: Fishing for Loot, Li Yunlong Begs Me Not to Reel In!

Jiang Chuan arrived in northwest Shanxi and became a cook in the Independent Regiment. The whole regiment was out of food and reduced to chewing tree bark, while he lounged by the river with a fishing rod. Li Yunlong cursed him out: “Jiang Chuan! If you keep fishing, I’ll snap that rod in half!” The moment the words left his mouth, Jiang Chuan pulled a crate of German-made rifles out of the water. Old Li dropped to his knees on the spot. “Dad! Let’s put the rod away and slap those bastards in the face first, all right?” He fished up miracle medicine from a dry well and cannons from a mud pit! They used to laugh at him for never doing anything useful. Now, one swing of his fishing rod had knocked the enemy’s whole foundation out from under them, and he’d become the Independent Regiment’s revered ancestor.
