The Court Officials Read Minds, and the Plot Goes Off the Rails

Yan Ci transmigrated into the Great Zhou dynasty as a female Imperial Chronicler disguised as a man, and was bound to the Historical On-Screen Comment System.

As long as she could hold out until the Great Zhou fell, she would be able to take a retirement payout of tens of billions back to the modern world.

So every day, she carried a little stool and followed the tyrant around, quietly watching the drama and taking notes.

What she did not know was that every court official could hear her thoughts!

At the morning court, the tyrant berated the great general for overshadowing the throne with his achievements.

Yan Ci wrote furiously, firing off comments in her mind:

[Keep yelling! The general is actually your maternal uncle, and he’s impotent, so there’s no way he could rebel. I’m dying!]

The next second, the tyrant dropped to his knees and clasped the general’s hand. “Uncle… My esteemed subject, you’ve worked hard!”

Yan Ci: ???

The upright chancellor remonstrated to the death, threatening to dash himself against the imperial pillar.

Yan Ci sighed inwardly:

[Don’t hit it! The concubine you just took in is an enemy spy, and she’s carrying your military tally off to deliver it right now.]

The chancellor slipped, then sprinted a hundred meters home to catch her!

Yan Ci: ???

Later, Yan Ci realized that this script about the dynasty’s downfall wasn’t going as expected.

The tyrant became an emperor for the ages, the treacherous ministers turned into model workers, and envoys from every nation came to pay tribute to the Great Zhou.

And somehow, she became the auspicious sign who stood just below The Outcast and above everyone else.

Looking at the envoys from every country kneeling before her, Yan Ci trembled:

[I’m really just someone who keeps a diary. Please, just let me retire!]
