Variety Show Director: From the Start, I Can Foresee the Five Seasons’ Iconic Moments

Lu Chen, a top variety-show screenwriter, opens his eyes to find himself transmigrated into the role of an intern director just before filming begins on "Traveling Carnival". His contract has only three months left.

With the complete "memory bank" of the next five seasons in hand, he knows every hilarious highlight and every painfully awkward on-set mishap.

When the production team argues over a filming problem, he calmly raises his hand. "The bus will break down on the Qingzhou Expressway. I suggest we start Plan B."

The intern the whole internet mocked starts saving the show's ratings from disaster with one "prophecy" after another.

Three years later, at the industry's top awards ceremony, the host asks, "Director Lu, how did you create this nationally beloved variety show with a perfect rating?"

In the audience, the directors who once doubted him, the colleagues who sidelined him, and the cast members who looked down on him are all applauding.

Lu Chen looks at the camera and smiles. "I just saw how it would all end before anyone else did."
