After the Divorce, My Ideal Husband Came to Life

Marriage first, love later + both each other’s first + older man + secret crush becomes mutual + groveling after the divorce (bright and brave vs. restrained and self-controlled) Of all the desires in this world, lust is the most intoxicating and the hardest to resist. Xia Yuxi lives by the motto that the brave get to enjoy the world first. But when her marriage to Gu Liyuan, which lasted barely a year, ended in divorce, she realized that marrying him hadn’t been brave at all. She’d simply let desire cloud her judgment. She tried to make this emotionally robotic man fall in love with her, only to discover that he had married her for the sake of maintaining an image from the very beginning. Only then did she understand: in their marriage, which began with desire and was supposed to lead to love, she was the one who desired him first and loved him first. He had never loved her. So she chose to divorce him without hesitation. It wasn’t until later, when Gu Liyuan wrote her a thousand-word letter and the roses she loved most bloomed in his heart, that Xia Yuxi learned the truth: he had been the first to fall in love, and the first to lose himself in their relationship. “Xia Yuxi, if I’d known I would love you this much, I should have told you I liked you the first time we met.”
