An Ordinary Love Story Between an Electrician and an Invoice Clerk

In a busy urban industrial park, Wen, a taciturn veteran electrician, and Yu, a cheerful invoice clerk, are little more than acquaintances who exchange nods through a pane of glass. Wen's world consists of wires, circuits, and equipment that always needs fixing. Yu's domain is receipts, ledgers, and phones that never stop ringing.

Then a blackout at the entire factory brings their worlds together by chance. While repairing the circuits, Wen discovers a “fault” he can never seem to fix: the way his heart inexplicably races whenever Yu is near. Yu, too, gradually realizes that the sound she most looks forward to isn't the ringing of the phone, but Wen's steady footsteps outside the office.

From chance encounters in the tool room to sharing a boxed dinner during a late-night shift; from their shy first date to an awkward confession that makes their relationship official; from living in separate rentals to furnishing their first home together, this novel tenderly portrays how two ordinary people find the rhythm of their beating hearts amid the currents of work and daily life.
