Princess, I Swear I'm Not Your Male Favorite

After the God of War “died,” she became the male lover of her sworn enemy, the princess. In the Battle of Wuming Slope, General Shen Qi was betrayed by her closest friend. A thousand cavalrymen were wiped out, and no bodies were ever found. When she opened her eyes again, she was a “plaything” kept in the bedchamber of Princess Zhao Huining. Her wrists were bound with silk ribbons, her inner strength was gone, and every day she had to learn to play music, paint, and serve a woman. Zhao Huining, the princess famed for her extravagance and debauchery, traced the old scar over her heart with a fingertip, her red lips curling into a smile: “Shen Qi is dead. You’re only... a stand-in who looks like him.” But when the Empress Dowager’s spies came after her, Zhao Huining shielded her. When the widowed wife of one of her former subordinates was killed in the street, Zhao Huining handed her a bloodstained secret letter marked with a tiger’s head. When she nearly got caught sneaking into the Minister of Works’ residence, Zhao Huining revealed her extraordinary lightness skills and stood beside her in the darkness. “Work with me,” the princess whispered in her ear, her breath hot. “I’ll drag your enemies to hell, one by one.” Only then did Shen Qi realize: This gilded cage wasn’t a prison. It was shelter. And this princess wasn’t her enemy. She was the little girl Shen Qi had once risked her life to carry out of a sea of flames sixteen years ago. “What is it you want, Your Highness?” “I want a new ruler on the throne, and my enemies to pay in blood.” Zhao Huining clasped her hand, a mad light burning in her eyes. “And I want you... to stay by my side forever.”
