Synopsis

From the 1950s to the 1970s, the CIA secretly conducted mind-control experiments, using drugs such as LSD on unwitting subjects and even setting up “bait houses” for surveillance research.

- Why it sounds like a rumor: The story is straight out of a spy thriller, far beyond what the public imagines intelligence agencies are capable of.

- The truth: The experiments were exposed at a U.S. congressional hearing in 1975. Declassified records confirmed that the program existed and had been carried out for years.

Twenty-eight-year-old investigator Eric is drawn into a zombie-virus mystery while searching for the truth behind his mother’s disappearance.

A virus known as “Ashes” lies hidden in the world. It turns those infected into bloodthirsty, frenzied monsters, and its origins point to a secret CIA experiment from the 1950s.

Every night, he is forced into the dreams of the infected, piecing together scattered clues. Strange writing appears in his palm: “It remembers you.”

A mutated virus was injected into him before he was born. His nerves resonate with the monsters, granting him a hidden ability that no one knows about.

His colleagues are disappearing, his father is acting suspiciously, and a resistance group has been slaughtered. A new strain of the virus is quietly spreading.

The government is suppressing the truth, while videos of black-eyed figures chanting circulate on the dark web. A collective consciousness has awakened.

He is the only one who can trace the virus to its source, but he is also coming ever closer to madness.
