The Ghostly Bones in the Tree Coffin

In 1982, at a logging camp in Northeast China, lumberjacks begin dying bizarre deaths one after another: their bodies are covered in bruised handprints, and they freeze to death with eerie smiles on their faces. Chen Shan doesn’t believe in the supernatural, until he saws open a hundred-year-old Korean pine with his own hands. Embedded in its heartwood is a fresh female corpse, smiling right at him. When a half-human-skin copy of The Mountain God’s Rite reveals the truth, he finally understands: the entire logging camp is an ancient evil formation, and the so-called mountain god demands living sacrifices. The respected old camp director is the mastermind who has run this sacrificial ranch for decades. The evil spirit beneath the earth is about to awaken, and his trusted companions are beginning to change. A contract mark appears on Chen Shan’s back, making him the eternal beacon for evil beings. He must choose: should everyone die with him? Should he become a new god? Or should he turn himself into a living seal and endure bone-deep agony for all eternity? Remember: you must leave the mountain before dark. No matter who calls you, don’t look back! Warning: Whoever calls your full name deep in the mountains may not be human!
