A Transmigrated Emperor Meets His Genius Brother-in-Law

A Transmigrated Emperor Meets His Talented Brother-in-Law

In the third year of Yongchu, everyone in the capital laughed at Lin Wensong, the third son of the Vice Minister of Revenue, and called him the biggest wastrel around. He lost his family’s entire fortune dabbling in seeds and stirred up trouble with a cooperative until his father chased him around. No one knew that this seemingly spoiled young man was a natural accounting prodigy and a business genius.

Shen Yu, an economics PhD who transmigrated into the body of the Great Liang emperor, planned to use modern knowledge to outclass the ancients. But when he summoned Lin Wensong, he was utterly floored: the young man sorted out the salt-tax books in three days and even drew a bar chart; his offhand suggestion for reforming the salt laws turned out to be an early form of modern tendering; and he could even turn disaster relief and reconstruction into a profitable venture that brought him both fame and fortune.

What drove Shen Yu even crazier was that this brilliant brother-in-law wasn’t just faster at accounting and better at business. He also had hidden martial skills, able to subdue enemies with his bare hands when it mattered. Most of the time, though, he just wanted to lie flat and slack off, working five days and taking twenty-five days off. He lived more comfortably than the emperor himself.

At court, the clatter of Lin Wensong’s abacus became a source of reassurance. Within the palace walls, Shen Yu’s “complete breakdown” became part of daily life. At the Lin residence, the warm chaos never let up. When a transmigrated emperor meets a native-born genius brother-in-law, an uproarious and fiery journey of governing the realm and supporting the family begins!
