Shadows of Espionage in Shandong

Shadow of Shandong is a spy thriller set in the early years of the full-scale War of Resistance. It centers on Chen Tianming, an underground Communist Party member with exceptional espionage skills. On his way home from training in the Soviet Union, he risked his life to save Wei Yisong, head of the Military Statistics Bureau's Qingdao station, who was being pursued by the Japanese. He then successfully delivered a top-secret Japanese military plan for 1939 to Chongqing, profoundly altering the intelligence landscape of the war. This not only greatly enhanced the Military Statistics Bureau's standing, but also earned Chen Tianming an exceptional recruitment into the bureau and an appointment as deputy head of operations at its Qingdao station. Chen Tianming's true mission, however, was to go to Beiping to assist with underground work. When the Beiping Party organization was destroyed, he remained temporarily in Qingdao, using his dual identity to navigate between the Military Statistics Bureau, the Japanese invaders, and the underground organization. While in Chongqing, he also foiled a Japanese plot to bomb top officials, dealing the enemy a heavy blow. After making contact with the Qingdao underground Party, a covert war of loyalty and wits began across the land of Qilu. Like a sharp blade thrust behind enemy lines, he guarded the true faith and the light amid layers of espionage.
