[Professor story + alchemy + soul-guiding devices]
Thorne felt he was lucky, and not just because he had transmigrated into a magical world.
Born in 1970, he was the son of a beer tycoon. His parents were abroad seeking refuge, so he escaped Voldemort’s reign of terror.
Voldemort died in 1981, just as Thorne returned home and enrolled at the best school, Hogwarts. He gained a System and became a winner in life.
Well, the System was a bit of a deadbeat. It dropped off a beginner’s gift pack and left, but turning him into a renowned alchemy master wasn’t bad at all.
He graduated from Hogwarts in 1988, once again perfectly avoiding Voldemort’s return.
Thorne thought things would keep going smoothly until one day, when the old headmaster, Dumbledore, wrote to ask him to come back as a professor.
Thorne: “Thanks for the offer, but I’m out! Voldemort’s coming back to kill people, so whoever wants the job can take it!”
What nonsense. No way he was going. With Voldemort about to return, wasn’t it much better to take it easy as an alchemy master?
But just then, the System, silent for so long, finally showed itself.
[Ding! System mission: Become Hogwarts’ alchemy professor. Reward: Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well]
Thorne immediately changed his tune. “I’m in! I’ll be there in no time. From now on, call me a career-minded alchemy professor!”
