A Lovely Face Amid the Waves of Wheat

A young woman from the city is sent to the countryside as an educated youth. After her parents are exonerated, a leg injury causes her to miss her chance to return to the city. Gentle on the outside but strong within, she is literate, skilled at sewing and bookkeeping, and brings a city girl's meticulousness while learning to settle down and farm. At first, her injury makes her insecure and sensitive. Later, with Gu Yan's care and the trials of everyday life, she grows into the admired "pretty shopkeeper" of Maigu Village. She is slow to warm up and passive in love, keeping her distance when the second male lead shows interest, which unexpectedly stirs the male lead's sense of crisis.
