I’m Bound to a Simulation System

My Life Is Being Read Aloud in Real Time as a Tragic Romance

Every morning at seven sharp, a mechanical voice begins narrating my day, down to every line of dialogue and every emotion.

I thought it was just a prank by some tech nut, until it said in a perfectly flat voice:

“Warning: New plot development today: Your first love, Lin Che, will die in a car accident three hours from now.”

“Spend 100 points of other people’s affection for you to unlock ‘intervention privileges.’”

A pair of icy options appeared before my eyes:

A. Pay now (current affection: 101)

B. Refuse to pay

My finger hovered in midair. The mechanical voice continued:

“Friendly reminder: If you choose to intervene, the System will begin announcing the countdown to your own death.”

The sun shone brightly outside my window. Lin Che had just messaged me: “Meet me at our usual place this afternoon. I have something important to tell you.”

And in my ear, a clear countdown began.
