After Our Flash Marriage, My Green-Tea Brother-in-Law Keeps Making Up Scenarios in His Head

A cool, alluring black-lotus queen of the business world VS a scheming, tea-art master with an overactive imagination

To fulfill her grandmother’s wish, Lu Qingzhi, the business world’s “black lotus,” impulsively marries Shen Mubai, the young traditional Chinese medicine practitioner from a family her own has known for generations.

He’s twenty-five, handsome, and smooth-talking, though a little “frail.”

After they marry, Lu Qingzhi discovers that this younger man is a born drama queen:

He fakes fainting, he fakes being afraid of the dark. The only genuine thing is the look in his eyes when he begs for a kiss every day.

“Big Sister, I have weak qi. I’ll only get better if you kiss me.”

“Big Sister scolded me. A beating is affection, a scolding is love. She really loves me so much!”

Lu Qingzhi rubs her temples. “How many scenes have you imagined in that head of yours?”

Shen Mubai’s eyes sparkle. “A whole series: ‘Married First, Love Later: Big Sister, Where Can You Run?’”

[Little Scene One]

Lu Qingzhi is in the middle of an international video conference when Shen Mubai appears on camera in a loose bathrobe, as if by accident. “Big Sister, drink your angelica and black-bone chicken soup while it’s hot. You kept saying your back hurt last night.”

The executives on the other end collectively freeze. Lu Qingzhi grits her teeth. “We sleep in separate rooms. Did I say it in my dreams?”

Shen Mubai replies with a perfectly serious face, “I’m skilled at inspection, listening, questioning, and pulse-taking, and I can tell where a sound comes from. Your body can’t hide anything from my ears.”

[Little Scene Two]

Holding a moxa stick, Shen Mubai stares intently at the back of Lu Qingzhi’s neck. “Don’t move, Big Sister. Your Yifeng acupoint is red. That’s a sign you’ve fallen for me.”

Lu Qingzhi can’t take it anymore. “That’s an allergic reaction!”

Shen Mubai nods affectionately. “Mm, an allergic reaction to love. Only my ‘medicine’ can cure it.”
