The Legend of Chaos Subduing Demons

Introduction to The Chaos Demon-Subduing Legend Xiao Fan, a mountain village youth, is branded a good-for-nothing because of his Chaos Spirit Root. While gathering herbs for his ailing mother, he nearly dies and obtains a fragment of bronze inscribed with the character “Xiao” and the words “Guixu awaits you.” Thus begins his journey into the cultivation world. He joins Xuanxiao Sect as a servant and, amid the bullying, awakens his Chaos Spirit Root and obtains a fragment of the Chaos Art. Bearing a Daoist heart in an ordinary body, he struggles to grow amid scarce resources and constant danger. A thousand-year crisis threatens the Nine Heavens Realm as the Netherworld Rift prepares to open. Minghe, the Netherworld Sect's demonic leader, plans to sacrifice countless lives to open the realm. Xiao Fan is drawn into the prophecy of the Five Suppression Relics, alongside Mo Li, the Netherworld Saintess who has turned against her sect. The two flee into the Guixu Secret Realm, gathering relics such as the Eastern Wood Command and Southern Fire Mirror, and uncover the truth of their origins: Xiao Fan's mother was the daughter of a traitor to the Hundred Herbs Pavilion, and a “pawn” in Minghe's scheme. Mo Li bears the bloodline of Chiyou and is key to the seal on the Demon-Suppressing Stele. Minghe launches the “Battle of the Nine Heavens.” Using his Chaos Spirit Root to reconcile the righteous and demonic paths, Xiao Fan gathers the five relics and reforges the Demon-Suppressing Stele to face Chiyou's remnant soul. After enduring the Heavenly Tribulation and having his soul lodged within the stele, he finally purifies the demonic energy with the “Daoist Heart Reaching the Heavens” state of mind, and is reborn with Mo Li in Guixu. An ordinary body rises against fate, the Daoist heart endures forever, and peace returns to the Nine Heavens Realm, leaving behind the legend that “the path is wherever the heart is set.”
