The Nineteenth Floor on the Road to Hell

Hell isn’t made up of the eighteen levels from legend. There are nineteen. The nineteenth level doesn’t punish sinners. Instead, it imprisons “living souls” mistakenly sent there while hovering between life and death. Their memories and vitality are being drained by an ancient entity to sustain a terrifying plot that spans the worlds of the living and the dead.

Lin Wan, a twenty-five-year-old graduate student in folklore, is investigating a string of bizarre suicides when she discovers that every victim received the same mysterious text message before dying: “Welcome to the Nineteenth Level of Hell.” As her investigation deepens, she finds herself drawn into a terrifying game linking the real world and the underworld. Each “level” corresponds to one of Hell’s punishments, and those who make it through earn the “right” to enter the nineteenth level.
