Scheming in the Eastern Jin Dynasty

Zhang Ergou, a modern parkour expert, accidentally transmigrates to the Sixteen Kingdoms period of the Eastern Jin, an age of collapsed order where human life is worthless. In this dark era, with war raging and northern cavalry running rampant, he is reduced to an insect beneath the feet of powerful northern nobles and left on the brink of death. In this desperate moment, he is saved by a noble young master with far-reaching vision. The man not only grants him his freedom but also recognizes his extraordinary wit and courage. To repay this act of recognition, Zhang Ergou dons a scholar’s robe, assumes the identity of Zhang Huaiyi, and resolutely joins the treacherous game of political intrigue. From the perilous lands of Guanzhong to the wilds beyond the northern frontier, from the natural barriers of Bashu to the misty rain of Jiangnan, he uses his perspective from more than a thousand years in the future and his modern strategic insight to help a worthy ruler advance step by step. He devises brilliant plans, lays out political schemes, shapes military and civil policy, and wins people’s hearts... Through one deadly contest and battle of wits after another, he gradually comes to sway the fate of the entire realm. The age of chaos will eventually end, and a new dynasty will rise. When the noble young master of old finally ascends the throne and becomes ruler of the realm, Zhang Huaiyi completes his transformation from prisoner to pillar of the nation. The people honor him as “Young Master,” and his fame spreads across the land as his name lives on in history.
