The Thorny Rose Pact

Su Wan, a twenty-seven-year-old emergency room doctor, is forced to sign a marriage contract with Huo Chenzhou, the man in control of a business empire. In exchange, she must become the heart donor for his comatose younger sister. On her wedding day, she receives an anonymous envelope containing a photo of Huo Chenzhou's first love. On the back, someone has written “Replacement” in red ink.

Three months into their marriage, Huo Chenzhou pins her against the floor-to-ceiling window every night and forces her to look at the lights in the apartment opposite. “The person who should really be standing by my side lives over there.” Only when Su Wan finds a bloodstained critical-condition notice in the inner pocket of his suit does she realize that she is the one who has already been sentenced to death.

When Su Wan flees the Huo family while pregnant, the man grabs the back of her neck and pins her outside the operating room. “You think you can survive by leaving? I'll make you wish you were dead.” What he doesn't know is that the hidden pocket of Su Wan's white coat holds the memory card from the dashcam at the scene of his mother's car accident. The sound of the brakes recorded on it is unmistakably electronic, and deliberately triggered.
