After Scoring Perfect Marks in Every Subject, the Top Student Set His Sights on Me

After scoring full marks in every subject, I was cornered by the academic ace who had held the top spot for years.

He looked down at me and said, “You're in my way, classmate. You're blocking my place at the top of the rankings.”

I'm Lin Wanxing, an illegitimate daughter of a wealthy family, and I have a System that lets me “see gaps in people's knowledge.”

To escape an arranged marriage, I worked hard to pass myself off as a poor student. But when the System malfunctioned and I scored full marks, my cover was blown in an instant.

Shen Qingci, the academic ace, held up my answer sheet full of blanks alongside my perfect-score paper and exposed me with one sentence:

“Pretending to be a bad student? Next time, remember to leave the hardest question blank, too.”

From then on, I was dragged into his world:

By day, we were rivals on the competition circuit. At night, he sold knowledge on the black market to pay for his sick mother's outrageously expensive medication.

Two people hiding behind perfect masks unexpectedly became allies:

He helped me deal with my family's arranged marriage, and I helped him find a chance to save his mother.

Jiang Che, the man I was meant to marry, watched with a sneer. “One of you cheats with a System, the other sells knowledge. Why pretend to be so noble?”

When darkness fell, Shen Qingci clasped my hand and chose to bind himself to me.

“Knowledge can be a commodity, a weapon,” he said, “but to me, it will always be the key that helps you break through.”

From our school days to the national competition, from fighting monopolies to confronting capital,

we'll use this “imperfect” System to pierce through all the fairness dressed up for show and carve a path for our dreams.

Until I stand at the podium of change and reveal everything to the world

he holds up our shared perfect-score report in front of everyone:

“I held the top spot for three years running, just waiting for you to surpass me.”

“Then we'll, ”

“Rewrite the rules together.”
