I Admit It, This Little Worm Has Become a Dragon Today

At fifty, I was unemployed and a million yuan in debt. My relatives called me a "parasite," my neighbors laughed at me as a "worm," and even my daughter had to scrape together money to pay my phone bill.

I accepted it all. By the pond at my ancestral home, I smiled at the stagnant water. "A worm, then. So be it."

Until the debt collectors slapped a photo of my daughter in my face.

That night, the pond burst apart, and golden light shot into the sky. The sleeping Ancestral Dragon awoke in my blood: "Who dares insult a descendant of the Xiao family?"

The next day, I went to the hospital and made the top specialist kneel and apologize for his arrogance the day before.

A week later, I stood amid the ruins of a corrupt mine owner’s estate, with workers suffering from pneumoconiosis behind me, finally receiving their compensation.

A month later, a top-secret document bearing the national emblem was delivered to me.

Everyone who had once called me a worm saw me on television.

Behind me, a dragon's shadow coiled as the nation's fortune soared.

Only then did they realize what they had spent half their lives laughing at.
