Reborn in Hong Kong’s 1997 Entertainment Scene: I Seduced a Famous Director and Became a Top-Tier Star

In her previous life, Lin Zuyu was a laughingstock right up until the day she died.

At twenty, she was supposed to audition for a film by acclaimed director Wen Zishen. Instead, her agent broke into her room and crushed every bit of her promise with fists and nude photos.

The “older sister” she’d never even met took her place at the audition, shot to fame, and became Wen Zishen’s muse. The man who’d allowed it all was the one she’d called Dad for twenty years.

Her agent kept using her to curry favor with powerful people, and she made one lowbrow flop after another. At last, outside her father’s office, she heard him say, “That bastard’s daughter thinks she can compete with my Weiwei?” Her heart turned to ash, and she leapt to her death.

When she opened her eyes again, she was back on the night her agent had broken into her room.

This time, she gripped the cold ashtray in her hand.

The next day, with her enemies staring in shock, she walked straight up to Wen Zishen. The man gave her a cold, appraising look. “There’s hatred in your eyes. You’re not right for my leading lady.”

Lin Zuyu’s lips curled slightly. She leaned close to his ear and breathed, her voice as sweet as perfume. “Then… would I be right for your bed, Director Wen?”

She’d meant to make him her devoted admirer and use him to her advantage, but she never expected…

Everyone in the industry knew Wen Zishen was a famously cold and domineering tyrant who hated actresses throwing themselves at him.

Everyone was waiting to see her thrown off the set and turned into a laughingstock.

That was until paparazzi revealed a secret late-night photo: Lin Zuyu, in a swaying red dress, pinned hard against a door by Director Wen, his burning kiss smearing her lipstick.

The headline exploded: “Scheming Starlet Visits Director Late at Night for ‘Guidance’!”

Wen Zishen reposted it immediately, with the caption:

“My wife is coming home. Who does she need to report to?”
