When Night Ming, a grandmaster of the occult world, slipped while undergoing his tribulation, he failed to ascend and instead became five-year-old Night Ning. The dashing “Patriarch Night” turned into a tiny tot with short arms and legs who stumbled as she walked and spoke in a babyish voice. Even trying to form a spell seal could leave her landing hard on her bottom, her dignity shattered.
What was even more infuriating was that this hadn't been an accident. Someone had used a life-swapping spell to steal her biological brother's destiny, and now wanted to usurp his place. Night Ning could put up with being short and adorable, but she wouldn't tolerate being schemed against! And so the soft, squishy little tot embarked on her path of revenge, making fierce threats in her baby voice as she read fortunes, drove out evil, caught the traitor within, and protected her family's assets. She also waged a constant battle with her short little legs: “If I fall again, I'll refine this lousy body!” (The next second, she went splat on the ground, then got up and pretended nothing had happened.)
