Universal Civilization Classification Standards (Recursive System General Edition)
Type 0 Civilization (Planetary Surface Civilization):
- Energy sources: fossil fuels, fission power
- Range of activity: the surface of its home planet and near orbit
- Characteristics: has not yet fully mastered the energy of its planet
- Human status: before 2025
Type 0.5–0.9 Civilization (Nuclear Civilization):
- Energy sources: controlled nuclear fusion
- Range of activity: interplanetary travel within its solar system
- Characteristics: has mastered planetary-scale energy, but does not yet make full use of it
- Human status: current (after Q>1 in 2027)
Type I Civilization (Planetary Civilization):
- Energy sources: antimatter energy, early-stage Dyson clouds
- Range of activity: complete control of its home star system
- Technological hallmarks: antimatter engines, interplanetary colonization
- Requirements: fully harness the energy of its home planet and travel freely throughout its star system
Type II Civilization (Stellar Civilization):
- Energy sources: fully developed Dyson spheres, stellar energy extraction
- Range of activity: its home star and neighboring stars
- Technological hallmarks: sublight travel (0.1–0.9c), miniature wormholes
- Requirements: complete control over the energy of a star
